On May 22, 2026, a young girl lost her life as a result of reckless driving in Malmö. She was struck at high speed while using a pedestrian crossing.
Before this horrific tragedy, she had been an exceptionally joyful and dedicated dancer at one of Malmö’s ambitious dance clubs.
Each year, the club stages a spring performance featuring a large number of dance routines. But this year, there was an empty place in several of the meticulously rehearsed show’s routines. It was especially noticeable to everyone present—to those who missed her and who still could not comprehend the inconceivable reality of suddenly losing one of the friends who had always been there.
At the end of the event, balloons were released into the sky in the hope that she might see some of them from wherever she is now.

The Faroese whale hunt is known as grindadráp and is a centuries-old tradition involving primarily the hunting of pilot whales. When a pod is spotted at sea, boats gather to drive the animals toward a bay or beach. There, they are killed using special tools designed to sever the spinal cord and major blood vessels quickly.
The hunt is highly controversial and, in the view of many, horrifying and deeply disturbing. Others regard it as an important part of Faroese cultural heritage.
